Annemarie joined the Through Life Physiotherapy team in September 2021. She was born and raised in The Netherlands and after she qualified as a physiotherapist in 2006 she backpacked around Australia. On her return to The Netherlands, she started working at a private practice where she worked for over 13 years. She registered as a Physiotherapist in Australia in 2022 and is enjoying her life and work in Warragul.

Annemarie has extensive experience with exercise rehabilitation groups, musculoskeletal work, vestibular problems and all sorts of chronic/ complex complaints and Invisible Illnesses. Her passion is helping people with persistent pain and complex physical issues so they can learn to understand and cope with the challenges in their body. She has done a three year Masters in this specialised area of chronic pain, invisible illnesses and body-mind physiotherapy. In the last few years she has been integrating these skills with all Gender Health care, extending her knowledge and professional development through relevant advanced courses.

Annemarie brings exemplary professional skills as well as a warm friendly spirit, caring for and connecting with each of her patients. She has a holistic and trauma informed/ focused approach and enjoys the challenge of supporting people while determining what their complex body needs. She likes to individualize her treatments and connect with other health care workers to create a trusted health care team. She is always learning through courses, network meetings, supervision and mentoring sessions with colleagues. As a senior clinician she leads our team in the Invisible Illnesses and Gender Health Care

Annemarie leads our team in understanding the connection between physical and mental health, the movement system and physiological functioning and the treatment of invisible illnesses and stress related conditions. As physiotherapists we are specialised in working with your body.

In The Netherlands she was one of the only specialists trained in vestibular problems and rehabilitation in the region. She did several courses and practised alongside the local ENT- doctor.

We are thrilled to have her skills at Through Life Physiotherapy.

Annemarie has chosen to come to Australia for the adventure and enjoys expanding her professional career further. She is appreciating the space, a balanced lifestyle and the beautiful nature and weather. She loves exploring the country and taking the kids to the beach. As a real Dutchy she likes cycling as a commute and having everything closeby.

The Through Life Team is here to look after all your physiotherapy, rehabilitation and exercise needs.
